Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of MoonCal, including acceptable use, account responsibilities, and disclaimers for this free service.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MoonCal. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use MoonCal.

The service

MoonCal converts lunar dates such as birthdays, anniversaries, and festivals into calendar subscriptions (ICS feeds) that you can add to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, and other apps. MoonCal is currently provided free of charge.

Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide an accurate email address and keep it up to date.
  • You must be old enough to consent to the processing of your data under the laws of your country.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Attempt to access accounts, calendars, or data that are not yours.
  • Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the service to store or distribute unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the service in ways that degrade it for others.

Subscription links and data deletion

Each calendar has a private subscription link secured by a unique token. You are responsible for who you share it with, and you can revoke a link at any time by regenerating its token. When you delete a calendar it is soft-deleted and then permanently removed after 90 days. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled.

Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the content you create (your calendars and events). The MoonCal name, brand, and software remain our property. You grant us the limited permission needed to store and process your content in order to provide the service.

Disclaimer

MoonCal is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and while we work hard to compute lunar-to-solar conversions accurately, we do not warrant that every date is error-free. Always verify important dates independently.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MoonCal and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from missed dates, inaccurate conversions, or unavailability of the service. Because the service is free, our total liability to you is limited accordingly.

Changes and termination

We may update these Terms or modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected by updating the effective date shown on this page. You may stop using the service at any time, and can request deletion of your account via the feedback entry at the bottom of the page.
